Josh's fascination
with photography began with the moving image. Having grown
up on a steady diet of matinees and popcorn, Josh eventually
found himself as an M.F.A. student at the University of
Southern California's School of Cinema-Television. There
he took his first cinematography class and came to experiment
with the play of light on the human form.
His work is created entirely in-camera --
he employs no computer or digital manipulation to enhance
his photographs. He uses flashlights, lasers, and projected
images to explore and reveal the bodies of his models.
In Josh’s other life, he is a director
and writer of films and television. Along with his directorial
debut, “Kids in America,” he co-penned the
upcoming Bruce Almighty sequel. He has also written projects
for New Line, Dimension, Warner Bros., Comedy Central,
Disney, Fox, ABC, the WB, Jerry Bruckheimer, Dreamworks,
Sony Studios, Columbia Pictures, Mark Canton, Chuck Russell,
Original Films, Nickelodeon, as well as many others.
Josh Stolberg's photography was most
recently on exhibit at the K.L. Fine Arts Gallery in Chicago
and the Melrose Lightspace in Los Angeles. His work was
also featured the short-lived Fox show “Skin.”
